Continued funding--Persistence, Performance, and Law School: Implementing Interventions to Encourage Growth Mindset, Maximize Education, and Ensure Practice Ready Professionals

Abstract

We are engaged in a process of changing the culture at Pitt Law that involves developing an informed understanding of our students’ subjective experiences, then designing customized interventions that help students shift to more adaptive mindsets, and gauging and continually improving our effectiveness. We plan to use the insights we acquired this year to target the culture that causes many students to feel stressed and question whether they belong at Pitt Law. With continuing support, we hope to develop tailored growth mindset interventions that target specific groups, at specific times, in specific contexts, and to promote institutional change.
